Certain Ideas have always grabbed my attention and sustained my interest. These concepts surface at unexpected times, or so it seems. In reality, these notions are triggered by written phrases, overheard conversations, or sights seen. Mental impressions arise when hearing meaningful words of phrases. Witnessing repetitive behavior or visual scenes can bring on the same response.

The important ideas that resurface are the psychological traits or instincts in all humans/birds/fish/animals, thoughts of complexity/change and the complexities of the human form. Once these ideas are recognized and patterns are acknowledged, the haunting question arises.... What if ..... (This is where the exciting creativity comes in as we shift and sort visuals!)

Alphabets, written language, and conversation are filled with double meanings, level of though, and subtext. This double layered or overlapped meaning, both visual and written, are endlessly intriguing. I have been drawn to paper collages and painting because they best visually represent our contemporary world in all it's complexities and layers.
